Some writers get so enthralled in selecting a title for their characters that they lose site of the actual writing of the storyline.
It helps to think of your character not as a character at all but as a real person. It puts more perspective on what you finally decide to call them.
Identify with them and get to know them. Think about their professions or their stature in life. For example, if your character is English and he is a noble man then you may want to think about calling him Earl. Earl is an English name and it means nobleman.
Also, when you do find a moniker you like say it out loud. In your head it sounds one way but once said aloud it sounds all together different and may not have the same appeal...
